note for self: Aven's stone found by Alexander, keeps it & drops it in front of Jack on purpose. Wants Jack to find it. reason why person who looses her doesn't notice. also takes away awkward hard-to-fit fight scene--if Blood takes the stone from her host's cold body, there's no real need to explain why she was able to keep host's body alive/why Jack didn't run away or try to get help.
...maybe i should do that...

oh, and the okay not really is about the "mad skills." I actually did make that.
And to the previous idea, i tell myself, no, Alexander (did i change his name? I still think of him as Stephen.) Blood gives it to Jack in front of the school. Makes it strange and kind of "eh...?" ish, but this way he can tell Jack, "Your mother would have loved for you to have this" (a total lie but Jack doesn't kno) Still removes awkward fight scene and explanations, with the addition of introducing Blood as the strange man who randomly gives stuff away. And is Blood ever strange. better than making it seem like he just dropped it normally, cuz Blood would never do something like that.
nah, he's gotta come to Jack's house. it's weirder that way, and more like him.
